No Years is not just about the best new music. Nine Lives Gallery will also be curating elements of surprise throughout the venue including The Poster Show with artists such as Beastman, Leif Podhajsky, Numskull and We Buy Your Kids compiled during the three years that the cult gallery has been hosting international, national and local talent.

Globally recognised Brisbane- born artist Anthony Lister has been making waves across the international scene. No Year’s is proud to feature an exclusive outdoor installation to get the Powerhouse all festive.

Bringing the New Year in will be tastemaker Yimmy Yayo, the mysterious character behind a widely recognised style and ideas blog is throwing his creative behind the countdown. When the clock hits midnight and our two headline bands throw their hands in the air to celebrate a new year, there will be some very special surprises in store.

Brisbane based visual artist, Amy Longworth also joins the exhibitors. Her work examines the concepts of line and repetition and their ability to create delicate, complex forms. Them of fragility, weightlessness and space are investigated in her practice through constructing forms both two-dimensional and sculptural, void of space and time. Temporary spaces constructed in installation works act as a portal to the transcendental, isolated environments depicted in her illustrations. Amy has spent the year exhibiting in a number of group shows across local spaces including Jugglers, Nine Lives and The Zoo and is now preparing for a series of collaborations with practitioners from film, fashion and the visual arts for 2012. Amy created this awesome video for No Years. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Nine Lives and No Years is also putting a call out for submissions from Brisbane’s best artists, graphic designers, photographers to show alongside established creative such as Beastman, Numskull, Leif Podhajsky and WeBuyYourKids. Deadlines for submissions is December 7th, 2011 with artists announced on December 14th. We welcome all types of creative poster submissions with the only requirement being they must be to no larger than 2mb and emailed to us in JPG format no later that 3pm December 7th.

Submissions are to be emailed to info@wehaveninelives.com and titles No Years x Nine Lives. Selected artists will be announced via our website and Facebook page on the December 14th.

If your submission is selected you will need to provide a print quality A0 portrait sized image in one of the following formats: JPG, PDF, TIF, PSD, AI & EPS. CMYK / 300dpi.
