Dum DUM GIRLS

Hailing from California, The Dum Dum Girls combine 60s pop sensibility with a 90s punk ethic. "Only in Dreams" is a musical and emotional step forward from 2010's "I Will Be" , with impassioned, front-and-centre vocals from Dee Dee that sometimes recall one of her heroines, Chrissie Hynde; big singalong choruses draped with almost choral harmonies; a chugging wash of guitars drenched in reverb, tremelo and fuzz; and mighty, booming bass and drums.

Ball Park Music

With the release of their debut album "Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs" Ball Park Music have become not only one of Brisbane's favourite acts, but also made their place on the national stage thanks to some avid support from triple j and some high profile touring buddies like Boy and Bear, Cloud Control and Hungry Kids of Hungary.

Jonti

Jonti is cutting a swathe across the world. With debut album "Twirligig" due for release on October 18th through Mistletone/Inertia in Australia and Stones Throw Records in the USA, Jonti has already had the likes of KCRW singing his praises. The South African born, Australian-based producer and beatmaker has an expansive repertoire of collaborators such as Sean Lennon, Santigold and most recently Hodgy Beats of Odd Future infamy.

Yukon Blonde

Yukon Blonde hail from Vancouver and produce 60s soaked rock with simple hooks. They have an old school band philosophy, encompassing old friends on long stretches of highway and sleeping on floors, playing 37-dates across Canada and the USA, picking up Rave reviews at CMJ in NY, SXSW in Texas and voted top live act of Canadian Music Week. Bringing favourable comparisons to Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac and Crosby/Stills/Nash, YUKON BLONDE are the nostalgic yearning for the past you can only dream of.

The Jungle Giants

Fast gaining national exposure, The Jungle Giants were whispered to be one of the highlights of Big Sound, proving why frontman Sam Hales picked up the 2011 Billy Thorpe Scholarship for his song writing prowess. After being Unearthed, triple j soon picked up their catchy track 'Mr Polite' to full rotation with Home and Hosed's Dom Alessio hailing it a "Superb little pop tune".

Millions

Brisbane band Millions have been feeling like they won the lottery since they were hand picked by triple j unearthed to play the main stage at Splendour In The Grass. The garage-pop marvels have been hitting the road hard in the lead up to the release of their debut EP, 'Those Girls' in November. Millions will make you feel like you're rolling in it at No Years.

Tourism

Locals TOURISM evoke a sense of winsome adventure and romance whilst being very much at home in Bris-Vegas. Having provoked the hearts of triple j with their dreamy, summer music, this quartet is the perfect accompaniment to a hot evening on the Brisbane river.

Jeremy Neale

JEREMY NEALE is best know for fronting 12-piece monster pop outfit Velociraptor and while his solo jaunt ranges from garage to folk; surf to country and new romantic to just plain romantic, the pop sensibilities remain.

The Holidays

The Holidays have cut a swathe across the globe, with stints in the USA and UK, playing Las Vegas with Cee Lo Green and The Ting Tings, blowing away SXSW. In the UK their 7" 'Golden Sky' was given a big bear hug by Radio 1's Zan Lowe, added to the X-FM playlist and the BB6 playlist before playing The Great Escape Festival and Dot to Dot Festival. Their 'Post Paradise' was lauded in Australia, winning The Australian Music Prize Red Bull Award for Best Debut Album. They will be giving festive frolickers a reason to celebrate this New Years.

Last Dinosaurs

Last Dinosaurs are putting the final touches on their brand spanking new album due out in early 2012. With their catchy pirate hooks, penchant for evoking nostalgia and summery fresh pop tunes, it is a highly anticipated debut. Having already charmed the masses with their EP "Back from The Dead" and their 7" record "Time and Place", the latter racking up more than half a million YouTube plays. The Dinos head out on tour with The Grates throughout November, priming their tour-hardened bodies for a raucous NYE.

Nina Las Vegas

Triple J party-starter Nina Las Vegas is getting on the decks to bring in 2012. Playing festivals, parties and clubs, Nina Las Vegas hooked up with Anna Lunoe and Bad Ezzy to make all girls supergroup HOOPS. She also founded Heaps Decent alongside Diplo and Levins as an initiative to find and nurture the creativity of underprivileged and indigenous young people. Most reknowned from her Triple J program House Party, who better than to ring in the new year than Nina Las Vegas.

Oliver Tank

Oliver Tank's incredibly textural glitch pop has won him fans the world over – from XFM's Mary Ann Hobbs and BBC1's Jen Long to triple j tastemaker Zan Rowe. His combination of live instruments with computers to create heartfelt soundscapes won FBi Radio's Northern Lights Competition earning him a trip to Iceland to perform at Iceland's Airwave Festival as well as collaborate with local musicians. TANK's debut album "Dreams" will be released in mid-November. Be sure to have entered his headspace before 2012 rocks around.

The Belligerents

Fiery locals The Belligerents make things "Less Arty More Party" for New Year's Eve with their dance-disco-punk ethic. Having supported the likes of Metronomy, Neon Indian, Breakbot, Yacht Club DJs and many more, these pugnacious ruffians with get the dance floor throwing shapes.

Little Casino

Drawing influences from indie popsters The Shins and The Panics, Little Casino have been wowing critics with their clean cut, tight genre to produce an original style that is very much their own.
